"Ryans words".http://www.ryanwhite.com/pages/words.html
This website provided the testimony in which Ryan white spoke before the National Commission on AIDS, and also the remarks from the National Commission on AID. I believe that this is a primary source because it is the actual testimony and was created during the time in which the event occurred.

First Annotation
"Ryan White" 16 October 2008. http://www.ryanwhite.com/pages/story.html.
This source list plenty of information about Ryan White . For instance it stated when he was diagnosed with HIV, his age, information on the court case and also the date in which he died. I know that this in a secondary source because it wasn`t created during the time period in which this event occurred and also because it is basically an overview of the event.

Thesis
Did you know that 850,000 - 950,000 American in the United States are living with HIV and approximately 362,000 Americans are living with full-blown AIDS.
Have you ever felt you were unwanted? I was, and I could just imagine how Ryan White felt during his horrifying lifetime. Being segregated from everyone in school because he was ill. Lets find out what it took for Ryan White to be looked upon as a normal human being, instead of an complete outcast.

Topic Selection
For my NHD project, I chose to do Ryan White. i chose him because I found it interesting how he taught people about AIDS. This person is important to history because without his efforts many people wouldn`t have understood what AIDS where around this time period. For this week`s research, I found an article at http://ryanwhite.com/pages/story.html, which I will read and summarize for next weeks annotation.

SERVICE LEARNING
In service learning groups on Friday my group discussed possible way to make others aware of Darfur and they were thinking that they could go to businesses and write letters to people to sponser them.

On Fridy in our service learning we watched a video on Darfur where they showed some of the living conditions and Mr. Brasof said that a school had actually made one of the tents they lived in and we kind of figured we could do that, and we also have to reasearch informtion based on cause& effect, international efforts, and most up to date information that is available.

Service Learning
This week we decided that we were going to focus on one main aspect in Africa. We can to an agreement that we were going to try and save Darfur. Darfur is affecting many people in Africa where they are being raped, murder, raid, and bomb attacks. Although we know what we want to do we have to find a way to do it. This up coming meeeting we are expected to research Darfur and come up with ideas in which we can raise money to do so.

Service Learing
Service learing is a good way to contribute to the community. One thing that I was thinking about doing was city year. City year is a good experience, in this program you get to learn a lot and meet other student in different communities. Another thing that I think we could do was go to Children`s Hospital and read to the youger children. Also I think that we may be able to go to a nursing home to help out with the elders. One last idea that I have is maybe joining an after school program where you can help the children with their homework, or even helping out at a Daycare.
NHD
My topic for NHD was, Sheltering Fever Orphans. I chose to present this project as an exhibit. One of the things I really think I should have did was managed my time better . Something that I thoght was really good was, once I organized my project I asked one of my teachers to over look it to see if I should make any changes and then I glued the information down to the board. Although I really didn`t like howmy group worked together I think We did a great job. Next year I would suggest that we start earlier, chose people who are willing to work and not play. After completing this project I learned how Richard Allen and Absolam Jones help provide homes for the orphans

Period 1-2
Fredrick Douglass
Fredrick Douglass originally named Fredrick Washington Bailey, born on Febuary7, 1817 was born a slave. During his younger years Douglass lived with his grandmother on a plantation until she pasted away when he was only 5 years old. In 1838 Douglass escaped to New York City where he later changed his name to Fredrick Douglass and married Anna Murray. Douglass became a teacher after being taught how to read and write by Sophia Auld. With this amazing group of students that he believed in he once told them, “What was possible for me is possible for you. Do not think because you are colored you cannot accomplish anything. Strive earnestly to add to your knowledge. So long as you remain in ignorance, so long will you fail to command the respect of your fellow men’. From a slave to n slave abolitionist, Douglass was a very successful man who helped former slaves escape on trains and also an editor.
After learning about Fredrick Douglass I can relate to him because I believe that you should strive for your accomplishment and never give up, because what one man can do another one can, and what one man won’t do the next man will.
